CALIBRE PLUGIN · POWERED BY TYPESAFE AI JEV

Useful book tags.
You keep the final say.

Classify one book, a selection, or an entire library. Define your categories, inspect the suggestions, and apply the tags you choose while preserving existing labels.

76-second silent walkthrough with English explanations. Edited from native interface captures and real API results; it is not a continuous screen recording.

A reviewable workflow

1. Configure

Start with your API key and vocabulary. Expand advanced options to configure the model and thresholds.

2. Review

Click tags for one book, or filter the batch list and open book details. Uncertain rows stay unchecked.

3. Apply

Add selected tags while keeping manual labels. Export CSV results and restore eligible changes.

Interface and decision rules: JEV Book Tags 1.1.1, calibre 9.13. Genuine JEV responses recorded on 1 October 2026 are reused unchanged; no new API calls were needed. Requested model: jev-latest; returned: jev-1.13.0. Global threshold: 85%; Programming override: 95%.

These are suggestions, not an accuracy benchmark. Each assigned category must reach its own threshold and evidence must be sufficient. Independent category scores do not sum to 100%. The complete run is shown below, including every review-required case.

From library selections to a single book

The plugin menu supports the current book, selected books and the entire current library. The metadata-editor icon uses the current form; confirming with OK saves staged tags, while Cancel discards them. Its position is configurable.

Calibre's native metadata editor with the JEV Book Tags icon beside Tags, and the preserved manual tag plus Computing and Programming.

A threshold for one category

Open Advanced options. Set the Programming category threshold to 0.95 (95%); empty cells inherit the global 0.85 (85%). Pro Git receives Programming with a genuine 98% score. The Linux Command Line scores 75% for Programming, so that tag is not assigned automatically.

Advanced settings with Programming selected and a category threshold of 0.95.

Clickable choices, clear review reasons

Single-book classification with clickable tags.

One book stays below threshold: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Review its suggested tags and confirm only the labels you choose.

Review detail showing Mystery 84%, Horror 81%, Fiction 80%, all below the 85% threshold.
